Feb 1, 1970 - Nov 18, 1997

On November 18, 1997, I lost my best friend. My son, Jason T. Martin, was killed on a job in the TPA park. That was the worst day of my life. On that day, everything changed, and will never be the same again. Jason was more than my son.......he was my best friend, my rock, and my confidante.

At the age of 27, he not only left behind a mother, father, and two brothers, but a wife, son, daughter, grandparents, and countless friends and co-workers that still miss him.

Part of my grief process has been creating a Memorial Page for Jason. My greatest concern is for his children. Kyle was only seven and Tori Jo a month shy of her second birthday. They say that a person is never truly gone as long as you can remember them. But how much can a child of seven or two remember? Daddy won't be here to tell them the stories of when he was a child. The only memory they will have is of their time with him. I know that someday they will ask "What was my Daddy like?" "What happened the day my Dad was killed?"

As much for them as for me, I've created some special pages for them. And perhaps these pages will also help another parent that is suffering through the loss of a child. You never get over losing a loved one....you only learn to live with it.
